On Monday, April 20th, the AIAA 1903 Wright Flyer left its home of over 18 years and began its trek north to NASA Ames Research Center.

Along the way, the team made several stops to display the aircraft and discuss the Wright Brothers, the original airplane, and our experiences in building our 1903 Flyer.

One of the goals of the project is to interest the next generations in both the history of the Wright's struggle to produce a controllable, heavier than air vehicle, and aeronautics in general. It is estimated that we spoke with over 3500 school age children during our trek - a pretty good start!
